Rock From The Heart for Aortic Health Featuring Night Ranger

Rock From The Heart for Aortic Health is pleased to present Night Ranger, in concert to benefit the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health, Saturday, February 9, 2019, 8:00PM at the legendary Pantages Theater.

Rock From The Heart’s founders, Peter and Amy Johnson, are driven to bring awareness and financial support to aortic disease. Twin Cities local drummer Pete Johnson, is an aortic aneurysm and aortic valve disease survivor. While the outcome was uncertain, Pete's surgery and subsequent recovery were successful.

In the Spring of 2017, Pete and Amy learned that Kelly Keagy, the drummer from their favorite band, Night Ranger, was recovering from heart surgery. They followed Kelly’s recovery, as his surgery ended up occurring a few months prior to Pete’s. Feeling a strong connection, in June of 2017 Pete and Amy drove 200 miles to see Night Ranger perform live. Seeing Kelly looking strong and drumming a 90 minute set, was an inspiration for them, as it was just 8 weeks, since his surgery. A few weeks later, Pete Johnson underwent aortic heart surgery himself and drew upon the bond he felt to Night Ranger during his recovery, setting a goal to be back behind the drums in 8 weeks.

Born out of their love for music and connection to Night Ranger, The Johnsons decided a great way to raise money and awareness would be to hold a benefit. In addition to the concert, the entire weekend is dedicated to raising awareness and funds that helps support the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health. Friday, February 8 features an Aortic Health Symposium and Recognition Dinner. Saturday, February 9 features a VIP Reception and Night Ranger Concert.

With more than 17 million albums sold worldwide, over 3,000 live shows performed, and more than 1 billion in radio audience, Night Ranger has both epitomized and transcended the arena rock sound and style of that era and beyond. With songs that have significantly impacted popular culture and continue to expand their ever-growing fan-base, Night Ranger is proof that powerful songs, plus accomplished musicians is the perfect formula for continued success.

Night Ranger has earned widespread acclaim, multi-platinum and gold album status while leaving their indelible mark on the music charts with a string of best-selling albums and instantly recognizable hit singles such as “Sister Christian,” “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me,” “When You Close Your Eyes” and more. The band was also one of the first big "video" bands, with more than 10 number 1 videos on MTV. Night Ranger is Jack Blades (bass, vocals), Kelly Keagy (drums, vocals), Brad Gillis (lead & rhythm guitars), Eric Levy (keyboards) and Keri Kelli (lead & rhythm guitars).

The John Ritter Foundation was created in October 2003, just weeks after John’s sudden death due to an acute aortic dissection. Formed by his widow, Amy Yasbeck, and their family for the purpose of receiving donations in honor of John’s life, the foundation is focused on thoracic aortic disease education, support, and research.
